Merry Christmas

I am sitting here getting ready to go to bed thinking about how tomorrow is Christmas. I seriously cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by and how we are celebrating Jesus' birthday. Tonight I went to mass with my aunt and uncle, I've gone growing up so it wasn't a new experience for me. But anyways, they talked about making sure not to just celebrate Jesus during the seasons- Christmas for his birth and Easter for his resurrection- but all the time. This was definitely a great reminder for me and I pray that each of us remembers Him throughout 2014; during both the good and bad times, because we NEED HIM ALL THE TIME! This is the first year I have truly been in awe of our Saviors birth and all that He has done for us. This year I have learned how much He means to me and how much He has changed and blessed my life. I have confided so much in our Lord this year and now I am so excited to celebrate Him. I pray that each of you have very Merry Christmas, and that if you do not know our baby Jesus that you let Him in your life to know him.

Merry Christmas.

2013 Recap: Part 3

Recapping this year was such a good idea and I am enjoying reliving it. So here's the 3rd part of my year! :) {I think next year I will do it in two parts like other people have done.. keep it a little shorter!}

July:
I started my blog :) and am loving it! And I am actually super surprised as to how well I've done with posting.. Hey! I have almost 40 posts! :D Also, a group of us went on a weekend trip to Red River Gorge. I wrote a post about that weekend here.

August:
I celebrated my 5th anniversary with Reese. Crazy how time flies. I started Junior year of college, started a new job, endured Kweek and the water balloon fight, I decided I was going on a mission trip {best decision ever!} & went on my first road trip for an away UK football game. A very busy, but fun month! :)

September:
September was a good month month! We went shooting at Reeses grandparents house. I also got my passport, which was such an exciting thing that happened!! And it hit me that I was actually going to Haiti, and actually going out of the country, lol. Reese and I went on a double date at our church. Great night to get out and do something different.

I can't believe I only have one more recap for you guys! This year has been amazing. And I've been so blessed with all of the things I've got to experience.

& A Whole Lot of Jesus.

Can I just tell you all how much I love this verse. It seriously is such a calming and reassuring verse, and not to mention such a great reminder.

I pray this over all of you. That you let Christ into your hearts, because it is peaceful once he takes it into his hands. Let him be the center of your life and everything else will fall into place. There may be struggles along the way, but you will have Christ right there with you to make that rough road just a little bit more peaceful.

But anyways...Today was such an enjoyable day. I spent pretty much the whole day with one of my roommates and it was just what I needed. Earlier today we ran a few errands and then came back to the house. I worked on my paper some {no I am not finished... I have 5 out of 7 pages, but it's due tomorrow/Friday at midnight, so I'm good!}

Then she fixed us a wonderful dinner. We had grilled chicken, some home style mac 'n cheese, and some broccoli. So delicious! Which is exactly what we said the whole time we ate. While we ate we watched Tangled. This was my first time seeing the movie, and it is absolutely adorable!

We then ran to the grocery because we wanted to make cookies. At first we wanted to make inside out buckeyes, but once we got to Kroger and saw all the other options we both changed our minds!
She made Pumpkin-Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies... delicious
And I made Funfetti Cupcakes. {No I haven't put the icing on yet... I got a little lazy, haha}

We then decided to do a little crafting. A few weeks ago I had gotten a few plain mugs for us {roommates} to decorate together. And now we are watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, we were so excited we finally found it at Kroger for pretty cheap!
Needless to say it has been such a great day. Relaxing and spending time with the roommate is always needed. Now to finish my paper, and I will be done with the semester. I hope everyone has has a great week and if you had finals, that they went well!

Goodnight everyone.

2013 Recap: Part 2

Hey y'all! I'm back for Part 2 of my 2013 recap! Here is Part 1. These months were probably not as exciting and this post will probably be a bit short, but here they are!

April
April was just a fun filled month with my new friends. We all met over spring break in March and so we started hanging out when we got back fairly often. In Kentucky we have a lot of horse racing and the races at Keeneland go on during October and April. So we had a big group date to Keeneland and then went to the spring football game for UK later that night. It seriously has been so nice having some new friends and doing some fun things with them! We also went together to Louisville to watch Thunder over Louisville. It has a big air show with all sorts of planes and then at night there are a bunch of fireworks and are huge! Such a fun month :)
May
I successfully finished my Sophomore year of college! I seriously cannot believe I have already been through two full years of college! It seriously has flown by... And as I'm writing this I have a week left of my first semester of Junior year! Anyways, I got to see Taylor Swift in concert which was really fun! She seriously puts on such a great show. Reese's sister also graduated from High School so we got to celebrate that with her. (I will post pictures soon! I just have to find them)
June
I started nannying two little boys for the whole summer. It was my first time being with kids consecutively during the day and having to find things to do with them, but it wasn't bad! I may be with them next summer as well & I will definitely have an better idea of what all we can do!
Sorry for how boring this part of 2013 was, sometimes it is nice not always having something to do. Hope you all are doing great and enjoying the last few weeks of 2013! :)

Prayer Challenge: Update

So I realized that I had forgotten to do my 3rd week post over the Prayer Challenge, but when I was thinking about it I realized that I had not done a good job at all of prayer each day for someone. Y'all this is a hard challenge to do... I knew it wouldn't be easy but I think it's harder than I initially thought.

I long for the want and desire to pray each day for someone intentionally. I long for the ability to feel comfortable with praying for people. I long for the ability to become a prayerful person. Each day I should be in prayer for everyone around me and for those especially who have asked me to pray for them or who definitely need prayer!

I really am going to try so much harder on this challenge I've given myself. It isn't like I don't want to, it is just very hard to get a new habit in your daily routine. I know I can do it and I cannot wait to see where I am after I can consistently pray intentionally everyday.

I hope you all are doing well! And if you've had snow around you like I have that you've enjoyed it! I've become kind of a little kid and have even played in it, haha. {I wrote this post about a week ago and it hasn't snowed since... I really wish it would!}

One more thing...
I found this verse last night that really stuck with me. At first not for praying because I was thinking about other things I need to get in the habit of, but then I realized how much it is true. And it is one more sign from God that it is okay that I am having hard time getting it in my routine and that I can do it eventually. He believes in me. I believe in me. And he still loves me the same. Seriously, Praise You, Jesus! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful God.

Goodnight everyone!

December 6, 2013

Almost the end!

Hey everyone, I hope that your week went well! Im at my aunt and uncles house tonight and we are watching some christmas movies. We have our christmas tree set up {no ornaments yet} and there is nothing like a lit up christmas tree, its just so magical. I really love this time of year because of all the breathtaking decorations. I wanted to get on here and tell you guys that I am in the process of trying to figure out a new design for my blog... which I've realized is so hard to do! :( I applaud everyone that has and also the blog designers out there. I really don't know what I will do about it because it is seriously starting to frustrate me- probably a break and then I may try to figure it out during winter break!

Speaking of winter break, I have one week left and then finals! And before finals I have two papers due, a presentation, a project, a discussion, to finish a reading log for my childrens literature class, and possibly a quiz?! Can you say A LOT! Thats just before finals. I know that it will all be okay and I will get it all done, just the thought of it all is kind of stressful; and not to mention I am a little tired of the semester right now!

Praying for everyone who has finals here soon and that the studying goes well for each of you! :) Please let me know if I can pray for you in anyway!

2013 Recap: Part 1

So I cannot believe that it is already December...Like seriously where has 2013 gone?!? It truly has been an amazing year! I am so grateful for everything that happened this year and am so lucky to have gotten to experience everything that I have!

I knew that I wanted to somehow recap my year for you all {especially since I started blogging in July and you all don't know what I did the first half of the year} but I wasn't exactly sure how I wanted to incorporate all 12 months. I finally decided that I would make 4 posts, each with 3 months. So here is the first post which includes January, February, and March!

JANUARY:
 I went to Passion 2013. Boy was that an amazing way to start out the New Year. I was seriously speechless in how 60,000 college students were all together worshipping our Lord. I learned that I actually love Jesus {yes, something I hadn't actually realized}. I learned how much I need him. It was something that I will forever be truly grateful for! It definitely started me off on the right foot and I am so excited to go in 2014. And if you are a college student you should definitely check it out for this coming year! It is going to be awesome {even though it is only two days long this year} Here are some pictures from it.

FEBRUARY:
I went on Winter Retreat with CSF to Gatlinburg. It was definitely a great weekend with some great friends. {and a much needed break from school} It snowed a ton that weekend so it was even more beautiful! I helped celebrate Reeses 21st birthday! And I got to go to my 4th Rascal Flatts concert, courtesy of my amazing boyfriend! :)

MARCH:
My birth month! :D I turned 20 years old! I went to Washington D.C. and New York City for spring break with CSF. I met some amazing friends that I couldn't imagine life without. I am so grateful to have finally met some girls in college that I have dinner with on a weekly basis {at least last semester we did} and get along with so well. We are pretty much in the same point in life, and one of them is the same major as I am! No better thing than sweet friends. Here are some pictures, and this month has quite a few.

Next week I will share what happened in my life during April, May, and June! :) I hope you enjoyed this post, and I would love to hear what you did this year.
