2013 Recap: Part 4

Here is the final 3 months of my 2013 recap. I cannot believe that it is over. It has been such a great year and I cannot wait to see what next year brings me. :)

October:
October was such a busy month, and I mentioned that in a post at the beginning of that month. But I got accepted in the Teacher Education Program, which was such a relief. Then we had a lot of UK games that we went to. I had family in town and a few projects to do. And of course, I went on an amazing mission trip to Haiti {yes I know I haven't talked about it yet, I will get there eventually..}

November:
November was a simple month getting back into the swing of school and finishing up a lot of projects. The main thing I pretty much did was Thanksgiving. I am so grateful for all of the Thanksgivings and other holidays that I have gotten to spend with Reese, and can't wait for many more.

December:
Before I finished up fall semester of junior year I got to fulfill a dream of mine... SEEING KEITH URBAN IN CONCERT! It was one of the best nights I've ever had, and I am so thankful that I finally got to see him. He was SO laid back. Reese and I had some fun pictures in the snow. I've also celebrated Christmas. I am so blessed to have not only my own family but also Reeses family to celebrate our Saviors birth with. We also had a fun family outing at the shooting range. And I celebrated the end of the year today with a UK basketball win against UoL.. our rival school! It was such an amazing game to attend; the crowd definitely showed up!

I hope that you all had as great of a year as I did. I hope that you all had a great Christmas and have a wonderful New Year. :)

Merry Christmas

I am sitting here getting ready to go to bed thinking about how tomorrow is Christmas. I seriously cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by and how we are celebrating Jesus' birthday. Tonight I went to mass with my aunt and uncle, I've gone growing up so it wasn't a new experience for me. But anyways, they talked about making sure not to just celebrate Jesus during the seasons- Christmas for his birth and Easter for his resurrection- but all the time. This was definitely a great reminder for me and I pray that each of us remembers Him throughout 2014; during both the good and bad times, because we NEED HIM ALL THE TIME! This is the first year I have truly been in awe of our Saviors birth and all that He has done for us. This year I have learned how much He means to me and how much He has changed and blessed my life. I have confided so much in our Lord this year and now I am so excited to celebrate Him. I pray that each of you have very Merry Christmas, and that if you do not know our baby Jesus that you let Him in your life to know him.

Merry Christmas.

2013 Recap: Part 3

Recapping this year was such a good idea and I am enjoying reliving it. So here's the 3rd part of my year! :) {I think next year I will do it in two parts like other people have done.. keep it a little shorter!}

July:
I started my blog :) and am loving it! And I am actually super surprised as to how well I've done with posting.. Hey! I have almost 40 posts! :D Also, a group of us went on a weekend trip to Red River Gorge. I wrote a post about that weekend here.

August:
I celebrated my 5th anniversary with Reese. Crazy how time flies. I started Junior year of college, started a new job, endured Kweek and the water balloon fight, I decided I was going on a mission trip {best decision ever!} & went on my first road trip for an away UK football game. A very busy, but fun month! :)

September:
September was a good month month! We went shooting at Reeses grandparents house. I also got my passport, which was such an exciting thing that happened!! And it hit me that I was actually going to Haiti, and actually going out of the country, lol. Reese and I went on a double date at our church. Great night to get out and do something different.

I can't believe I only have one more recap for you guys! This year has been amazing. And I've been so blessed with all of the things I've got to experience.

& A Whole Lot of Jesus.

Can I just tell you all how much I love this verse. It seriously is such a calming and reassuring verse, and not to mention such a great reminder.

I pray this over all of you. That you let Christ into your hearts, because it is peaceful once he takes it into his hands. Let him be the center of your life and everything else will fall into place. There may be struggles along the way, but you will have Christ right there with you to make that rough road just a little bit more peaceful.

But anyways...Today was such an enjoyable day. I spent pretty much the whole day with one of my roommates and it was just what I needed. Earlier today we ran a few errands and then came back to the house. I worked on my paper some {no I am not finished... I have 5 out of 7 pages, but it's due tomorrow/Friday at midnight, so I'm good!}

Then she fixed us a wonderful dinner. We had grilled chicken, some home style mac 'n cheese, and some broccoli. So delicious! Which is exactly what we said the whole time we ate. While we ate we watched Tangled. This was my first time seeing the movie, and it is absolutely adorable!

We then ran to the grocery because we wanted to make cookies. At first we wanted to make inside out buckeyes, but once we got to Kroger and saw all the other options we both changed our minds!
She made Pumpkin-Spice Chocolate Chip Cookies... delicious
And I made Funfetti Cupcakes. {No I haven't put the icing on yet... I got a little lazy, haha}

We then decided to do a little crafting. A few weeks ago I had gotten a few plain mugs for us {roommates} to decorate together. And now we are watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, we were so excited we finally found it at Kroger for pretty cheap!
Needless to say it has been such a great day. Relaxing and spending time with the roommate is always needed. Now to finish my paper, and I will be done with the semester. I hope everyone has has a great week and if you had finals, that they went well!

Goodnight everyone.

2013 Recap: Part 2

Hey y'all! I'm back for Part 2 of my 2013 recap! Here is Part 1. These months were probably not as exciting and this post will probably be a bit short, but here they are!

April
April was just a fun filled month with my new friends. We all met over spring break in March and so we started hanging out when we got back fairly often. In Kentucky we have a lot of horse racing and the races at Keeneland go on during October and April. So we had a big group date to Keeneland and then went to the spring football game for UK later that night. It seriously has been so nice having some new friends and doing some fun things with them! We also went together to Louisville to watch Thunder over Louisville. It has a big air show with all sorts of planes and then at night there are a bunch of fireworks and are huge! Such a fun month :)
May
I successfully finished my Sophomore year of college! I seriously cannot believe I have already been through two full years of college! It seriously has flown by... And as I'm writing this I have a week left of my first semester of Junior year! Anyways, I got to see Taylor Swift in concert which was really fun! She seriously puts on such a great show. Reese's sister also graduated from High School so we got to celebrate that with her. (I will post pictures soon! I just have to find them)
June
I started nannying two little boys for the whole summer. It was my first time being with kids consecutively during the day and having to find things to do with them, but it wasn't bad! I may be with them next summer as well & I will definitely have an better idea of what all we can do!
Sorry for how boring this part of 2013 was, sometimes it is nice not always having something to do. Hope you all are doing great and enjoying the last few weeks of 2013! :)
